How to start keyword research?

How to start keyword research

To start the keyword research, follow these steps:

  1. Identify your target audience and their needs: Let's say you are a vegan bakery owner and want to reach out to people looking for vegan bakery options.
  2. Generate a list of relevant topics and phrases related to your business/website: vegan bakery, vegan cakes, vegan pastries, dairy-free bakery, etc.
  3. Use keyword research tools (such as Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.) to analyze search volume, competition, and trend of the keywords: For example, using Google Keyword Planner, you can find that the keywords "vegan bakery near me" and "best vegan bakery" have a high search volume, while "vegan bakery delivery" has a medium search volume.
  4. Select the keywords with high search volume, low competition, and relevant to your business/website: In this case, you may want to target "vegan bakery near me" and "best vegan bakery" as primary keywords and "vegan bakery delivery" as a secondary keyword.
  5. Create a list of primary and secondary keywords and use them in your website content, meta tags, and alt tags for search engine optimization: Ensure to mention these keywords in your website content, page titles, meta descriptions, alt tags, etc., to improve your website's visibility on search engines.
  6. Monitor and update your keyword list regularly to stay ahead of the competition: Regularly check your rankings for the selected keywords and adjust your strategy as needed to maintain or improve your rankings.
